Elizabeth Kilbride and www.fatherspress.com announced they would donate $4 from
the sale of Kilbride’s book “Soul of American Warrior” to the Navy SEAL’s
Defense Fund.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LEE SUMMIT, MO – Kilbride’s donation is aimed at helping to offset the overwhelming
legal fees associated with defending three U.S. Navy SEALs - SO2 Matthew McCabe,
SO2 Jonathan Keefe and SO1 Julio Huertas - who have been charged with abuse
of a terrorist insurgent.
“Matt McCabe and his fellow SEALs have the best possible legal representation.
The best comes with a price tag,” Kilbride said firmly. Mike Smitley, owner of
Father’s Press Publishing, said, “Having been to Iraq with our warriors, then writing
about them, Kilbride knows their sacrifices first-hand, which is why she wanted
to do more than just verbally give her support. We intend to help these SEALs
by providing them with two strategic weapons to help them fight their
battle -- a book to help educate their fellow Americans and some funds to help
in their defense.”
“Ahmed Hashim Abed was the terrorist mastermind behind the attack against four
American civilians outside of Fallujah, Iraq, in 2004. As a member of the Al-Qaeda
network, it’s obvious he has used lesson 18 from the AQ handbook, where it says ‘once captured,
make false claims of abuse’. It appears he did just that by complaining to a Master-at-Arms.
As a result, charges of abuse were levied against these three SEALs,” Kilbride said in
their defense. “This situation is a National Security crisis and if we allow our warriors
to be falsely accused by terrorist operatives, who brutally attacked our fellow Americans
in Fallujah - dismembered, burned, and hung their bodies from a bridge - they will have
won the war on terrorism. I won’t allow them to use our rules of engagement against
our brave warriors so they can win,” she stated. The SEALs opted for a Court-Martial
instead of accepting a ‘Captain’s Mast,’ which carries a lesser penalty, but can also,
come with an implied acceptance of guilt. Kilbride stated, “They chose a Court-Martial
in order to prove their innocence. Their honor and credibility is at stake, and no SEAL
will accept their honor to be disgraced without a fight.”
“It’s going to cost our SEALs a large sum of money to prove their innocence,”
said the CEO of Maritime Tactical Security, the managers of the Defense Fund.
“While others sell t-shirts, pins and bumper stickers to raise money, Ms. Kilbride’s
book is going to help educate while at the same time raising funds to help these
brave warriors – it’s a Win-Win situation.”
David Lussier, creator of the Facebook support
page, “Support the Navy SEALs who Captured Ahmed Hashim Abed” said,
“We are excited that Ms. Kilbride is offering to help this way. She has worked tirelessly
on their behalf for several months with maintaining the support page, while raising awareness
in the media. With more than 100,000 members on our support page, I know we can help raise a
lot of money for the defense fund. Think about it, if all our members bought a book, the
fund could have $400,000 in no time.”
When asked how every American can help these SEALs, Kilbride responded with a simple
solution. “Type the word ‘SEAL’ into the special instructions box on the order form,
when ordering your copy of ‘Soul of American Warrior’ through www.fatherspress.com
website. It’s as simple as that. With each order, $4 will be donated to the
“Navy SEAL Defense Fund” to help raise funds to offset their legal expenses.
I am proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with these brave Navy SEALs because they
captured the man who killed four American Contractors. I know first-hand the struggles
our warriors endure while in a combat zone. Their mission was both admirable and
honorable; they did nothing to dishonor their brotherhood. I’m pleased to be able
to offer them a tool to educate their supporters on what it’s like to enter a war zone
and survive and at the same time help to raise funds for their defense,”
Kilbride responded.
